Great you know about semantic mediawiki ! I am sure we can do great things with it (although I am a bit lazy and I haven't really tried to work with it with other people yet - I know that the semantic web is becoming popular (see for example http://www.virtual-assembly.org/ ) as a way of exchanging data though ...)
For now I need to upgrade this wiki (I am a bit late and lazy on this, also I have added a little too many crappy extensions to it, which makes it harder to upgrade). I think I'll go with mediawiki 1.23 LTS because newer versions of mediawiki might not be as much "explored".
Do you maybe see some ways of using semantic mediawiki that could be interesting for (both of) us ? :)
